Blackeyes

In the deep dark spaces of my heart, I feel pain.
Pain not for me, but for my sisters and brothers.
Killed, no slaughtered!
By animals, for animals
And the haunting sounds of their cries, silenced!
By heavy purse strings,
Men in positions of power.
Or wait!
Was it really for the animals?
Or was this something more sinister?
Maybe even political?
Why is there so much violence?
And worse still so much silence!!
Where is the animal of ‘justice’?
What was it, a python?
Did the music stop playing,
Why isn’t it dancing?
How did we become this?
What will we do about this?
How do we get to stop this?
Put an end to this madness,
Stop the violence,
And restore peace?

I AM! MAN!……….. by Vicdugavi

I am MAN
They say I discovered fire
Made tools and passed
Current  through wires

Took to the skies in a balloon
Messed around Uni
And found honey in the moon

I made art
I made fart
And took part

I made war
I made peace
And drove cars

I am man

I am man and it was
the passion in your eyes
 that formed those fires.  Selah

It was the spark
in your heart that set ablaze
those wires -electric

When my progeny roars
When my fair ones devour
Bandwidth and sweetened flowers

Remember my name
Remember the game
That truly, I played the part

I am man

And when for country, patriotism
embowers, my bravest arts
Send some flowers

For friends and family
Buddies and mates
With whom I spend hours

Judge for yourselves
I am great fun
And showed you love-showers

I am man

On days not so great
On my sofa reminiscing late
Doubts cannot dissuade

For the Creator Himself
With words eternal and wise
Has addressed yours truly in same wise

I am Man

I AM! WOMAN!

I am,
The beauty of a thousand sunsets,
The strength of an enraged bull.
I am responsibility shouldered,
A friend loving and true.
My voice is the silken caress of pure velvet,
My tears salt the earth;
Tears of joy,
Tears of sorrow,
Tears for uncertainty,
Tears of pain.
And still my heart beats a steady rythme
Of love, hope, trust and faith.
I am a fierce protector of all I love;
I am the immovable object
And the unstoppable force.
I am the grace of a thousand swans,
Strutting in my heels,
Keeping the balance, maintaining the peace.
I am a ball of ambition,
And the executing action.
I am the future,
The present,
The past.
I am the silenced voices of many long passed,
The struggle for many yet to come.
I am the song of a thousand mothers,
And the daughter that the song praises.
I am opportunity taken,
History in the making.
I am love and laughter,
Lady and master,
Daughter, wife, sister, mother.
I am everything,
I am woman!
